SAVOURING EVERY MOMENT

I am glad to have the upper hand with regard to technology even it's just for a short while. You know what it is to talk about your PB Works account and Google docs and see computer savvy people look at you with eyes opened wide in amazement as if to say "What are you talking about?" Finally I can repeat what my son normally says to me" Get with the technology."Ever wonder for how long though? Remember the video about wiki when the man referred to sending e-mail as the "old way" and introduced wiki as the "new way". The way the technology is evolving I wouldn't be surprised if before the end of this course that we may have to alter our thinking and refer to one of the new technologies we are being exposed to as the old way.As we are aware new technology for information and communication continually appear and they change so rapidly that we are never able to thoroughly evaluate them.At this very moment some computer guru may be experimenting with some computer software that may make some existing ones obsolete.

  1. Wow!You go girl. We are all getting with the technology. I hope that we get to spend some time soaking in our new found digital skills. I too am enjoying the whole computer challenge and finding immense joy in ways to use this skill to help our struggling readers. Sometimes I feel as if I'm at the grocery filling my shopping cart with food for our struggling readers. I know I can pay the bill when I reach the cashier. Thanks to our lecturers. They are like our credit card.

  2. Hi Heather,
I am feeling just like you. Very proud, especially when I am hearing technological terms and I know what they mean. Imagine how amazed and eager to learn, our children will be when we start using these technologies in our lessons and allowing them to create projects using it.I love the way Kayle is comparing our learning of new technologies as going to the grocery. As teachers we need to know how to
operate these technologies and use them in our classes. Let us continue to upgrade ourselves so we will be counted as worthy teachers to teach this new technological generation.
